The Wendigo is the esoteric and mysterious aspect of our own mind that seeks to reclaim or take back pieces of our life.
It can be thought of as the archetypal shadow of our self, attempting to reclaim and destroy parts of our Self.
Like the Wendigo, our mind is constantly eating itself, and in doing so attempts to destroy whatever part of itself that gets out of balance and goes wrong.
The esoteric aspect of the mind is usually called ‘the devil,’ which is, of course, nonsense.
The esoteric mind, the mind of the higher Self, IS good, and IS divine.
When our own mind gets out of balance, it seeks to destroy itself.
And that is what the Wendigo is– the negative, destructive part of ourselves.
It’s a part of ourselves that wants to destroy our life.
