There was a time when I really used to worry about her wandering around all by herself out there, but now I’m pretty sure she’s not the Wendigo at all.

She’s a very special person, a rare and beautiful child, a girl who I think can really do some important things for the future.

I was thinking, what if this whole story about her being a Wendigo were really just one more myth to keep the tourists away, what if the Wendigo were simply a figment of people’s imaginations, what if I really am the only one who thinks that the stories about it actually have something to them?

I mean, you can tell a lot about a person based on the kinds of legends they tell.

People don’t just lie to themselves about this stuff.

Maybe the truth about the Wendigo is really just that: stories told by people, and that people make up whatever they need in order to explain the un-explainable.

There are so many things we don’t know that happen at night.

And then I got to thinking: the way I see it, if you really want to know the answer about whether or not Evelyn is a Wendigo, you could always just ask her, you know?

Just ask her if it’s true.

Then, I bet, she’ll say yes.
