Chateaugay Lake, NY, Edgar Allan Poe, reporting. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread as I arrived at Lake Chateaugay to investigate the strange occurrences and rumors of sea monsters and otherworldly creatures. For the past four decades, this location had been off-limits to the general public, and for good reason, it seemed.
I checked into the Merrill House, determined to figure out what was going on. But as night fell and the creatures’ howls echoed through the woods, I couldn’t shake the uncanny feeling of dread that had overtaken me.

During my investigation, I discovered the Wendigo Artbots, advanced machines designed by Evelyn Nesbit, a Buddhist avant-garde artist and sculptor. It was said that these Artbots contained actual human souls trapped within them, which was a terrifying thought to consider.

The Artbots were viewed as a threat to the Wendigo’s culture and way of life by the Wendigo, a tribe of techno-luddites. They feared that the Artbots would undermine their values and drive them out of existence. But the danger extended beyond cultural preservation. The Wendigo claimed that the Artbots were vulnerable to possession by their own kind, causing them to behave like Wendigos and potentially causing an infestation of the area.

As my investigation progressed, I couldn’t help but feel disgusted at the thought of these hybrid beings, with their human-like souls trapped inside a machine. The mere thought sent shivers down my spine.

But it wasn’t just the Artbots who made me nervous. The otherworldly creatures’ howls continued to haunt my dreams, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being stalked.

I knew I had to solve this mystery, but the sense of dread and terror grew with each passing day. The horrors of Lake Chateaugay had gripped me, and I knew I’d never be able to escape the terror that lurked within its depths.
