

The warm days of summer had arrived, and with them came a sense of peace and contentment to the Bellmont hamlet of Chateaugay Lake.

Darius had always wished to go fishing with his father, as they had done when he was a child. Other responsibilities and commitments, however, seemed to get in the way as he grew older.

He’d always been a voracious reader, seeking knowledge and adventure. And, he was well aware that in order to make his dreams a reality, he would have to work hard and save his money.

It wasn’t easy, but he was determined. He saved a dollar each week, and before long, he had enough to make his dream a reality.

Finally, the day had arrived. Darius and his father set off in Chateaugay Lake, ready to catch the biggest fish in the lake.

It was a perfect day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the fish were biting.

It was the catch of a lifetime. A giant pike, big enough to feed the whole hamlet.

THE OLD SQUIRE’S DAUGHTER, SUSAN OLIVE: (Thinking to herself) Something’s coming. I can feel it in the air.

But their happiness was short-lived.

For as the sun began to set, a group of wendigos came crashing into the hamlet, ruining everything.

The Old Squire’s Daughter, Susan Olive, a fierce and beautiful young woman, firmly stood her ground and sent her pets, Bob the Maine coon cat and the dogs, Little Rosie and Old Jack, out to sound the alarm.
SUSAN OLIVE: (Yelling) Bob! Rosie! Jack! Sound the alarm!

Bill Miles’ sister, Susan Olive, was the bravest person in the hamlet. She wasn’t afraid of anything, especially not a group of drunken wendigos.
