July 19th, 1959 Chateaugay, NY
Editor,
There’s been unsettling talk around the diner stools lately, whispers about somethin’ strange happening up at the lake. Can’t say I put much stock in ghost stories myself, but these folks ain’t known to lie.
Seems there’s a creature been spotted roaming the shoreline under the full moon. They call it a “demonic stag,” with eyes that pierce the night and antlers reachin’ for the heavens like a prayer gone wrong. Sounds fantastical, I know, but the way folks describe its ragged breath echoin’ through the pines gives you a chill.
This ain’t the kind of talk that brings comfort to a quiet town like Chateaugay. Folks are on edge, and the peacefulness of the lake just ain’t the same. It’d be a favor to the community, Editor, if you could look into this. Maybe send someone up to take a peek. There’s nothin’ for honest folks to fear, but a little explanation sure wouldn’t hurt.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Resident
